My name is Olivia Rae Zammit, and I am an ISSA-certified personal trainer and nutritionist. I am currently enrolled at the University of South Florida as an Exercise Science major. I intend to earn a BS degree with a minor in nutrition in order to apply to a Dietetic graduate program and become a registered Dietitian. My passion for nutrition and fitness is the sole reason I want to make this my career. Prior to becoming a personal trainer, I competed at the national level in Olympic Weightlifting and had always participated in a variety of sports growing up. After I stopped competing in this sport, I realized that my love for the gym would never fade, and I fell in love with the sport of Bodybuilding, which is why I plan to compete as a wellness competitor within the next year. Outside of the gym, I've gained an abundance of nutritional knowledge over the last four years. My understanding of nutrition has expanded as a result of my gastrointestinal health issues. These problems have not only taught me how to balance my diet to achieve optimal health, but they have also motivated me to eat a balanced diet every day which focuses on obtaining enough nutrients to meet my goals in the gym and in any sport I want to participate in. My digestive problems gave me the opportunity to discover more strategies for overcoming dietary limitations brought on by allergies and way of life decisions.
